"Compassion is most important for happiness. We must treat fellow human beings as equal, that is very important, but also all beings who have capacity for feeling. So the innate desire for happiness that is the basis of human rights extends to all sentient beings, including animals and insects. There are now some individuals and organizations who care about animal rights and are showing concern about the suffering or torture of animals. I have noticed among ordinary people, out of their love and compassion, growing efforts for promotion of vegetarianism. These are the right kinds of expression of compassion, very positive and encouraging signs." - His Holiness The Dalai Lama - Feb. 2007

Animaline is a safe place for sick, injured, orphaned, abandoned and cruelly treated animals. No creature is ever turned away and we do not practise euthanasia unless it is for the sole benefit of the animal. We are home to wild and domestic animals - sheep, cows, horses and water birds of every kind. Our aim is to rehabilitate the wildlife back to the wild where they belong. Those unable to be released remain at Animaline and given the chance of a happy life.
"Alana Stevenson's The Right Way the First Time is a welcome addition to the chorus of positive dog training. Its beauty lies in Alana's direct approach. The book is easy to understand and is fueled by Alana's genuine and obvious love of animals. She emphasizes the importance of educating dogs "the right way, the first time," which is an invaluable refrain. If more and more people implement her suggestions, more and more dogs...and people...will benefit."

Honor all with whom we share the Earth:
Four-leggeds, two-leggeds, winged ones,
Swimmers, crawlers, plant and rock people.
Walk in balance and beauty.
