It has been a long time coming but we are pleased to say
that Chris has now recorded a Solo CD !
March 2004
" A solo album is something I never thought about doing until it was suggested to me. Suddenly I thought about all the songs, which through the years I would have loved to have sung, but never had the opportunity.
The most important thing was not to make it sound like ' Sticky Fingers ', you will be hearing a great deal of them later this year.
Also with me on this CD are a couple
very talented musicians :) !
Long Time Coming - a few select  songs I never got to sing, until now ! "

Where Are You
Chris Pollard [Sticky Fingers]
April 2003

While recording songs for a forthcoming solo C.D. this song just came up. I was so influenced by the horrific pictures I saw on T.V. that the song almost wrote it's self. It was my producer, Anj ( Andrew Hewings ) who had the idea to use actual war sound effects, which I think puts you right there in the front line.

We are all touched by the War in Iraq in some way or another. Although I do not personally know anyone involved, it was brought so much nearer to me by the loss of the service men based at Culdrose. The whole concept of War has changed, every time you turn on the T.V. or radio there it is as it happens, it's very difficult for us all to  focus on anything else.

This song is not only about the conflict in Iraq it's about wars past and present. Like so many thousands of others, we lost family members in times gone by and you can not help but wonder what they would have achieved had they
had the chance of a longer life.

Those in charge of such things now refer to the battle front as `The Theatre of Events'. Should the taking of life be so trivialised, not in my book.  My song may not stop any wars but hopefully it may make people think what they are sending our young service men and women into.

LONG TIME COMING CD REVIEW

It may have been a "Long Time Coming'," but ohhhh, was it worth the
wait! There are no sticky fingers on this CD, friends, uh, uh, Chris
Pollard's guitar playing is way too smooth, and rocks you through some
of the best classic music of all time !   If your a Stones fan, you're
going to go crazy over his renditions of, Just my Imagination, Love in
Vain, Satisfaction, and more !   Did I mention how much Chris sounds like
Mick Jagger ?   If you're feeling more bluesy, you have to hear, Waiting
for a Train, personally, I couldn't get enough of it, and don't even try
to sit still while your listening to Down Home Girl. it's going to
transport you to the streets of New Orleans, and have you dancing in a
second line by the first chorus !   An extra special bonus on this CD are a
few selections of Chris' own amazing music.  Did I mention he is also a
gifted composer, and talented song writer ?
Well, I guess you have a surprise or two in store for you.
Long Time Coming is an outstanding CD,
produced by a very talented group of musicians.
Definitely something you will just have to experience for yourself.

Why are you waiting ?
